PMTA's NextGen Committee is comprised of the next generation of leaders in the trucking industry and those passing the baton. There is no age limit to join.
The committee serves two purposes:
- Teaching young people about careers in trucking and the importance of the transportation industry.
- Giving young professionals working in the trucking industry continuing education and networking opportunities.
NextGen works with the PA Road Team to create opportunities for school presentations teaching about trucking and trucking careers.
The NextGen Committee runs the PA Trucking FFWD program connecting young leaders with networking and learning opportunities. Participants will receive a 360-degree view of the industry from the policies and regulations that we abide by to the technology preparing us for the future. Program graduates will be equipped to lead their companies, communities and the trucking industry.
To complete the program, participants need a total of 40 points. These points can be acquired by attending a variety of Trucking FFWD and NextGen events.
To enroll in PA Trucking FFWD, please email PMTA Director of Communications Megan Magensky at mmagensky@pmta.org with your name, company, job title and a short description of why you want to participate.
If you've participated in PA Trucking FFWD before, please include the years you participated and any events you attended.
The PA Trucking FFWD program will consist of four quarterly in-person workshops around the state featuring one of the following areas of the trucking industry: equipment, business, safety and legislative.
In the months we're not meeting in person, you're invited to attend a NextGen Lunch and Learn webinar.
We will also be hosting chapter networking events and encouraging volunteer efforts at PMTA events.
*If you're participating in something at PMTA and think it should be eligible for PA Trucking FFWD points, please let us know. We will address this on an individual basis.
Upon enrollment, PMTA staff will keep track of the PA Trucking FFWD events you attend. When you hit 40 points, you've completed the program and will be issued a certificate.
Upcoming Trucking FFWD events will be posted on the PMTA event calendar.
