PMTA Chapters

Your Connection Across Pennsylvania

As a member of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA), you are part of a statewide community that represents and protects the trucking industry in Pennsylvania. One of the best ways to make the most of your membership is by connecting with your local PMTA chapter.

Chapters are where PMTA’s mission becomes personal. They are built around regional groups of counties, run by fellow Carrier and Allied members, and designed to give you a stronger presence in your own community.

Why Chapters Matter

  • Local Advocacy
Pennsylvania is diverse, and trucking issues in Philadelphia may not look the same as those in Williamsport or Erie. Your chapter provides a place to discuss the concerns that matter most in your region and ensures they are heard at the state level.
  • Networking and Business Growth
Chapter meetings and events bring you together with local carriers, suppliers, and safety professionals. These opportunities allow you to build relationships, exchange ideas, and grow your business connections.
  • Professional Development
Chapters often host educational programs, safety training, and legislative roundtables that keep you up to date on regulations and industry trends.
  • Community and Recognition
From supporting community initiatives to recognizing outstanding drivers through local competitions, your chapter helps highlight the value of trucking in your area.

"We lean very heavily on PMTA for staying up to date on all the regulatory changes and making sure we're current. You used to have to have a weight class sticker. If you didn't have a weight class sticker there was a huge fine. PMTA got that weight class sticker removed. You used to have to have your truck inspected every six months. PMTA got that changed. Just recently they got CARB pushed out to 2027 from 2024. They also stopped bridge tolling. Without PMTA and without someone pushing back we would have tolls on I-83."

"It's quite amazing how organizations like PMTA can speak in the ear of people at the state capitol to change regulations to something we want. Where a trucker might voice that or write a letter to Congress, but that's why organizations like PMTA are so important."
