NORTHEASTERN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES OPEN HOUSE FOR CDL

AND FORKLIFT SIMULATOR DONORS

A celebration of a dream come true for the quickly growing D.R.I.V.E. program

YORK, PA – Northeastern High School is excited to announce they have exceeded their goal of $115K required to purchase a CDL simulator for their D.R.I.V.E. program in March of 2020. Due to the pandemic and a building project at the high school, the celebratory dinner had to be delayed. The D.R.I.V.E. program also reached a $53K goal to purchase a forklift simulator. A celebratory open house will be held on March 9th, 2023 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Northeastern High School for the donors of the simulators and supporters of the program.

The D.R.I.V.E program is an acronym for Driving Resources and Innovation in Vehicular Education.

The DRIVE program name was developed by a group of industry partners and Northeastern School District staff in 2018.

During the 2018-19 school year, Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, or PMTA, took the lead and helped raise over $115K from local companies and individuals to support Northeastern High School’s D.R.I.V.E program. Northeastern High School then purchased the CDL simulator. They have been training students on the simulator for the past few years with outstanding results.

Northeastern High School is looking forward to thanking the generous donors for their partnership.  The event will take place at the high school and consist of one-on-one demonstrations of the simulators, dinner, and a thank you speech from the high school.

“The dream of purchasing these cutting-edge simulators could not have been achieved by one person.

We are thankful for the support of PMTA and the team effort involved to accomplish this goal. These simulators will give these students a leg up in a noble and rewarding career.” Chad Forry,

D.R.I.V.E. Teacher at Northeastern High School.
