What a great turnout at Spooky Nook.  Great job.  Had a good time giving some industry updates mixed with a few war stories.  Great showcase of what PMTA is all about.

I had an opportunity to spend the day with one of our new members on June 8th.  We spent the day reviewing the Federal Regulations through our DOT Compliance training.  What a great group of people!  PMTA is happy to welcome Sherwin Williams to the association and we are lucky to have members like SW who are committed to safety!  Thanks for a great day Jon and crew.

Had a great visit at the Pitt Ohio facility in Pittsburgh yesterday.  Thanks to Pitt Ohio for hosting the event.  Presentations by Jim Maug (Pitt Ohio construction manager), Dave Stahl (Trans Edge), Hayden Cardiff (Idelic) and DJ Hoff and Lucas Renner (Locomation) were excellent and relavent to the current industry issues.  Another good day Doug!

Even though gas prices are higher than ever it seems traffic volumes continue to grow.  There will be many amateur drivers out on the highways this weekend so, if you are working or traveling for leisure please be safe and drive defensively.  The other people can't help that they are bad drivers so don't make it worse by taking it personal.  Stay safe and enjoy your holiday weekend.

This amendment to the FMCSA Emergency Declaration addresses national emergency conditions that create a need for immediate transportation of essential supplies and provides necessary relief from the FMCSRs for motor carriers and drivers.  FMCSA has amended the Emergency Declaration 2020-002 as this is necessary to address particular fuel needs arising out of the ongoing emergency and to broaden the categories of fuel shipments covered.

The  Emergency Declaration now includes the transportation of fuel including, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethyl alcohol, and heating fuel including propane, natural gas, and heating oil.

International Roadcheck Is May 17-19 With a Focus on Wheel Ends

Inspectors will be out in force.  Although wheel ends is the focus point, all systems will be examined.  Brake violations are historically the most common problems during roadside inspections.  Protect your CSA scores and be ready!
